Charlotte-based RevTech Labs has revealed its Class 18 cohort that comprises 15 startups from around the globe — its biggest class in the accelerator program’s duration.

RevTech Labs, founded in 2012, is widely known as one of the top financial technology accelerators in the world. The company has traditionally hosted two cohorts annually, in the spring and fall, that focus on fintech and insurance tech.

The spring 2023 program kicked off yesterday in Charlotte. The chosen startups will go through a 12-week, hybrid program, and founders will work with RevTech’s advisory board and mentors while receiving funding from its venture firm.

RevTech’s CFV Venture Fund 1 was recently ranked the No. 1 venture capital firm for fintech in the nation.

The newest group of founders, of which 87% are identified as traditionally underrepresented, were selected through an internal screening process which initially connected with nearly 6,000 companies globally. RevTech narrowed them down to 68, then eventually selected 15 final companies. None of the startups are based in Charlotte.

“This is the strongest and largest class in RevTech Labs and QCFintech history.” said Dan Roselli, co-founder of RevTech Labs, in a statement. “It's a demonstration of how important and relevant the accelerator model still is for the startup community, especially in more challenging economic times. Founders understand and desire the support, resources and funding RevTech Labs provides."

Sara Roselli, also a co-founder of RevTech Labs, said the accelerator’s latest cohort surpasses its goal of hosting over 50% of traditionally underrepresented founders.

“We believe that access to mentorship and investments continues to be crucial for these startup founders' long-term success,” she added.

Here are the 15 fintech and insurtech startups in RevTech Labs’ Class 18 cohort:
  • Breakthru of Brooklyn, New York
  • Chaiz of New York City
  • Cloutdesk of New York City
  • Donate Stock of Houston
  • Insured Nomads of Birmingham, Alabama
  • InsurAware of Atlanta
  • Irys Insurtech of Tampa, Florida
  • Marley of New York City
  • OnboardXi of Fort Scott, Kansas
  • PledgX of Toronto, Canada
  • Second Keys of Memphis, Tennessee
  • SmartConcil of Toronto, Canada
  • TRaiCE of Schaumburg, Illinois

RevTech Labs is hosting a welcome party today at AvidXchange with light networking, appetizers and drinks. The founders in Class 18 will introduce themselves and their companies at the party.
