Charlotte Inno's program to identify the region's leading players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem is back with a diverse group of 25 finalists. The third annual Inno Fire Awards honor local startups, entrepreneurs, tech firms and organizations that are simply "on fire."

This year, the program features everything from budding entrepreneurs to engaged nonprofits to tech titans that have hit unicorn status. These companies and organizations in 2022 ignited innovation across the city. Factors such as notable scale, product or service launches, and overcoming economic challenges have not only made these companies resilient, but inspired customers and supporters along the journey.

There isn't a one-size-fits-all approach for the leaders and businesses that continue to elevate and bolster the local entrepreneurial community. Some companies are just getting on their feet. Some have expanded and landed major commitments or partnerships. And frankly, some have tackled hurdles to reach equity and inclusion in the startup space.

This year's list was assembled from public nominations, expert input and editorial coverage. Some companies are repeat nominees, and several are making their first entry on the list. Some were recognized in Charlotte Inno's Startups to Watch in 2021. No matter the case, the Inno Fire Awards only scratch the surface on the successful startups and organizations that are enhancing the Charlotte region.

The winners in each category will be revealed at our in-person Inno Fire Awards event to be held on Dec. 5.

Both winners and finalists will be highlighted in a CBJ special report coming out on Dec. 16.
