Nearly 50 Charlotte-area companies snag a spot on latest Inc. 5000 list

The greater Charlotte area is home to nearly 50 companies that made this year's Inc. 5000 list.

Nearly four dozen Charlotte-area companies landed spots this year on the annual Inc. 5000 list, which highlights the fastest-growing private companies in America. Just over half of the ranked companies locally were no strangers to the recognition.

Hoodsly, a custom kitchen range hood company in Denver, had the highest Charlotte-area rank at No. 109 nationally. It posted three-year revenue growth of 4,048%. The business offers personalized wood range hoods, island wood hoods, hall trees, blowers and liners. Hoodsly was founded in 2015 with a goal to fill the need for custom range hoods without hiring a cabinet maker, according to the company’s website. Kevin Garrison is named as the co-owner.

Inc. magazine revealed the 2022 list on Aug. 16, ranking companies by revenue growth from 2018 to 2021, expressed as a percentage. The Charlotte area’s 47 companies on the list tallied $1.7 billion in total revenue, posted median growth of 242% and added 5,757 jobs. Eight of the local honorees were newly founded, while 24 were repeat nominees.

The highest-ranked company in North Carolina was Livinggood Daily, a health products business in Cary, which was listed at no. 6 nationally. Livinggood Daily has a three-year growth rate of 38,448%. The company is among 133 honorees total in North Carolina.

South Carolina had 61 companies ranked, with the state’s top spot belonging to ShredAmerica, a security company in Fort Mill, at No. 217 nationwide. The honoree had a three-year growth rate of 2,506%.

Inc. 5000’s No. 1 fastest-growing company overall was BlockFi, a financial services agency in Jersey City, New Jersey. BlockFi achieved a three-year growth rate of 245,616%.
