Mooresville sleep-tech startup Sleepme Inc. is using its recent rebrand to launch a new product and platform.

Sleepme, formerly Kryo, announced the rebrand in November. CEO and co-founder Tara Youngblood said the move was to signal a strategy shift that aims to tie the company's vision of sleep being restorative, regenerative and easy.

"For us the rebrand is great, but this is really aligning for our mission now. We have a mission to deliver sleep, and we’re really passionate about this idea," she said. "The fact is, the rebrand is really about meeting people where they are with sleep and finding a way to deliver meaningful change."

Earlier this week, Sleepme launched its new product, Dock Pro, which uses cooling technology to provide users with optimal rest and recovery. Youngblood said the company also released a new mobile sleep tracker platform that links with the Dock Pro system. Sleepme is working on capabilities that will allow its app to link with other smart devices already present in the home.

"Building an IoT platform to interact with other products means, for the customer, the delivery of sleep can be seamless," she said.

This isn't the first time Sleepme has undergone a major change. Tara and Todd Youngblood co-founded the company in 2007 as Chili Technology, then rebranded to Kryo in 2016. Sleepme is the parent company of the ChiliSleep brand.

In July, ChiliSleep partnered with Major League Baseball's Cincinnati Reds and Seattle Mariners to provide the teams with its temperature-regulated sleep technology, OOLER, a system that decreases body temperature to trigger deep sleep.

"Our brand is really about finding (customers) wherever they are, getting an individual to sleep well. We’ve been building the infrastructure behind the scenes to deliver more than just temp regulation," Youngblood said.
