Charlotte accelerator RevTech Labs has launched an ambassador program that will allow the organization to work with like-minded people and companies to further its exposure.

Ashley Everett, RevTech Labs events and marketing manager, said the impact of Covid-19 on not only their accelerator programs, but also startups, organizations and entrepreneurs all over the country, made it clear that they'd have more success banding together than moving forward alone.

"We saw there were so many people out there trying to continue keeping the momentum going and trying to continue to add value to the ecosystem, but there was also a real lack of partnership dollars, especially for the younger, scrappier groups like us," she said.

RevTech Labs, founded by managing director Dan Roselli, is an umbrella brand that encompasses fintech, insurtech and health tech. The original brand, QC Fintech, was no longer indicative of the accelerator's reach.

Everett said the RevTech Labs team decided to create the ambassadorship program to garner partnerships with other individuals, groups and organizations in the fintech, insurtech and health tech space.

"The idea was to bring in folks who are doing great things, so we can not only spread their message, but also leverage those partners to spread ours," she said.

They began planning over the summer, and launched the ambassador program just last week. Everett said the goal is to be as far-reaching as possible.

"I think we'll get a lot of traction here locally at first, but the end-goal is to have partners all over the U.S.," she said. "We're really focused on our national footprint, but to get there, we have to have the right partners and outreach. It's, 'Who do we connect with who already has some traction?' And it's the same approach with our partners, in terms of what we can do for them."

Everett said they've already secured one ambassador partnership with PayCLT, a local nonprofit that focuses on the payment sector.

"Whether it's organizations like PayCLT that are small and local or thought leaders who are influencers of this space, this program allows everyone to leverage the right groups to spread their message," she said.
