Interior design startup Vishion is launching its second Virtual Market, this time to teach designers strategies to survive and thrive through Covid and beyond.

Founded by Sam Smith in 2017, Vishion works with brands and partners to help interior designers and design lovers properly identify the colors and decor they’re looking for in their projects, all through an app.

The company's first Virtual Market in April was designed to help members of the design community navigate business as Covid-19 hit the country. The Summer Virtual Market, Smith said, will be a more granular look at business development and best practices as Covid continues to change the work landscape.

The summer market will run from July 13 to 17 and include a total of 13 live sessions. The sessions will be recorded and available for viewing after the event.

"During the April market, everyone was really scrambling. It was a way for attendees to find a voice and navigate through murky terrain," she said. "Now that we have an idea of what the future will look like ... the summer market can really explore in-depth strategies of what these business owners can do to embrace virtual."

Each session will focus on how designers, architects, landscapers and other home specialists can do business virtually and include topics like "Creating and Promoting Packages with Virtual Services," "Pricing Strategies and Expectations in a Recession," "Selecting the Right Color for Home Interiors" and "Using Consultations to Up-Sell and Create Referrals."

"Unfortunately, a lot of the folks we work with at Vishion are looking at the current landscape and thinking, what is this going to look like for the next year, three years, five years?" Smith said. "It’s one of those topics that’s such a hard pill to swallow. The decisions you make now will determine whether your business survives in the future."

Smith said she feels a responsibility to connect with the design community and do what's necessary to help them through the pandemic.

"This feels like one of the ways, as a business owner, I can give back to a community," she said. "For me, this is probably the best I’ve felt in a long time."
