Charlotte-based Defiance Ventures announced today the launch of its full-service digital transformation consultancy, Defiance Digital.

Defiance Digital will serve Defiance Ventures' portfolio companies, as well as third party customers looking to build digital products. It will focus heavily on the practical applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence, according to a news release from the company.

Defiance Ventures is a venture studio that launches, invests in, and acquires companies, while also providing consulting and design services. Its clients have included Chick-fil-A and Charlotte startup Stratifyd.

Kevin O’Dell, chief technology officer of Defiance Ventures and co-founder of Defiance Digital, said in the news release that the team saw a market need for this type of full-service consultancy that can "incorporate modern machine learning, design systems, application development, advanced cloud architectures and modern development methodologies into one offering."

“I am pleased to be a part of this offering," he said. "As a long time practitioner of big data analytics, as a vendor and as a customer, I understand that the current offerings in this space need help."
