BLKTECHCLT, a member-driven, Charlotte-based organization working to bolster Black entrepreneurs, has announced a new collaboration with New York-based educational organization Flatiron School.

The two entities will work together to produce leadership dinners, information sessions, coding workshops for beginners and other programming in the Queen City. The offerings are tailored to those who want to pursue tech jobs but lack the skills necessary to fill them.

“Charlotte has an incredible pool of talent, particularly within our robust minority communities, eager to make their way into high-paying tech jobs or take the next step in their careers," said Sherrell Dorsey, co-founder and CEO of BLKTECHCLT, in a statement on the move. "We aim to ensure that our members and their loved ones have access to the high-quality online training programs offered by Flatiron School which offers the flexibility needed by people juggling families and full-time jobs."

The partnership's first event will be a monthly information session that will occur through December; the inaugural meeting will occur on Sept. 17 at WeWork’s RailYard South End at 6:30 p.m.
