Skookum, a Charlotte-based digital strategy and design firm, announced that it had been acquired by San Jose-based digital product engineering company GlobalLogic.
As a result, the 2005-born Skookum will now operate as wholly owned subsidiary of GlobalLogic, retaining current leadership and staff. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A release on the move said that Skookum's "core offerings" well matched GlobalLogic, which also saw the acquisition as an opportunity to expand its influence across the country (in addition to its Charlotte HQ, Skookum has offices in Denver, Colo.).
Company leaders expressed enthusiasm about the move.
“The acquisition of Skookum fits our strategy and ambitions perfectly," said GlobalLogic COO Nitesh Banga. "We are very excited by Skookum’s culture, value proposition, and the ability to partner closely with customers to deliver game-changing solutions."
Skookum President Joe Ryan echoed his sentiments.
“We’re proud of the open, experimental environment we’ve created that empowers our teams to develop powerful digital solutions for some of the country’s biggest brands," he said. "And, now we will be able to bring even greater value to the market through the integration of our capabilities with those of GlobalLogic’s.”
