StartCharlotte is Now Charlotte Inno!

StartCharlotte
StartCharlotte

Born of an idea to help bring together the local startup community, StartCharlotte has grown right along with the ecosystem it worked to support.

We can hardly believe it’s been almost three years. In that time, our team of writers, event volunteers, and communications experts has worked to gather information and news of interest. We have delivered that to you on our website and through our weekly email newsletter. And we couldn’t have done it without the help of our awesome partners like Packard PlaceINCLT, and NC IDEA.

But StartCharlotte is about to change. On Monday, July 8, StartCharlotte will join American Inno to launch Charlotte Inno.

Charlotte Inno

Charlotte Inno is a digital media, events and data company focused on covering, connecting and catalyzing the local ecosystem. American Inno currently operates in 12 markets. Charlotte-based American City Business Journals, the parent company of the Charlotte Business Journal, owns American Inno.

Much like StartCharlotte, Inno will focus on championing and fostering connections between the ecosystems it covers. It will shine a spotlight on those entities that are driving change for the better, and using editorial, newsletters and events to ultimately strengthen and celebrate Charlotte’s tech and startup community.

Founded in 2010, American Inno is building one of the largest networks of local innovation. It hosts 75 annual events, publishes nearly 300 monthly original stories and sends over 500,000 weekly emails. Inno is a tremendous asset to every ecosystem they’re in. We’re thrilled to be a part of the organization and help bring them to the Queen City.

With Charlotte Inno, you can expect the same insightful, authoritative content that you’ve come to enjoy with StartCharlotte, only more. It will feature profiles of interesting growth-stage companies, resources and guides that make the ecosystem easier to tackle, guest posts from Charlotte thought leaders, news stories, multi-sourced editorial deep-dives and more.

What does this mean for you as a member of the StartCharlotte community? A few things. The website and newsletter will function as usual up through July 8. Then, on July 9, StartCharlotte.com will re-direct to Charlotte Inno.

The Beat

The StartCharlotte newsletter will have a second life as The Beat, a twice-a-week missive that connects readers with news, content and other insights from the ecosystem. We will deliver this on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

So, also on July 9, the first Beat will land in your inbox in place of our weekly StartCharlotte newsletter. Of course, if you’d prefer not to receive the Beat, you are welcome to unsubscribe here before that date.

Soon, we’ll be sharing more details about the change, including the new social media links, a sneak peek at the new Beat newsletter, and a chance to meet Inno’s New Market Editor, Courtney Gabrielson.

The entire StartCharlotte team has loved every minute of our work with you and the entire entrepreneurial community. We look forward to continuing that work as Charlotte Inno.
