Shortly before announcing Top Seedz as the $1 million winner of this year’s 43North Finals, the audience learned that the organization's massive startup competition wasn’t the only show they’d be putting on this year.
This December, 43North in partnership with the Ralph C. Wilson Jr Foundation is presenting the world premiere of “For the Love of Buffalo,” a documentary about Buffalo’s resurgence and the visionaries and talent behind the movement.
“Buffalo’s entrepreneurial and startup ecosystem is filled with changemakers and success stories that warrant a platform like television,” said Colleen Heidinger, president of 43North. “Our goal is to make the wider community aware of what’s happening here and inspire people to act – to get involved, and to find their own role in this mission.”
During the hour-long special, viewers will see the talent behind these companies and the visionaries who saw the potential in Buffalo.
They will meet residents who have pushed through barriers to prove there is a place in Buffalo’s tech ecosystem for anyone who wants to be there. And they will learn how the work that is happening today will impact generations to come.
The documentary will air on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. and there are a few ways people can watch:
- Attend a free premiere party at a local theatre including: North Park Theatre, Hamburg Palace Theatre, and Aurora Theater.
- Tune in locally to WKBK channel 7
- Live stream online at www.wkbw.com/live
