Jerry

CEO: Art Agrawal

Founded: 2017

Headquarters: Palo Alto, California

What the company does: It's building a car ownership "super app"

Jerry aims to be America’s first car app that makes it easy to manage all things car-related for free.

To get there, the Palo Alto, California-based company added about a year ago auto refinancing services. An auto refinancing customer service team is now housed at its Lockport office, which already served as the company’s insurance customer service headquarters.

The business has 58 of its 235 total employees based in Lockport, making it the company’s biggest cluster of workers.

“Insurance is not the only hassle American car owners deal with and so Jerry will help with more than just insurance,” said Josh Damico, Jerry vice president of insurance operations in a prepared statement to Business First. “As we use technology to continue growing our insurance business, we’re applying our insurance marketplace learnings to other car owner hassles, like auto refinancing, safety, maintenance and more.”

In 2022, Jerry added 1 million customers to its app and serves more than 3 million.

Along with adding services, the business also aims to grow through efficiency, making the car-ownership process cheaper and hassle free.

“Employees based out of our Lockport customer service headquarters are on the front lines,” said Damico, head of the Lockport office. “They are responsible for serving those customers."
