Software development and buyer intelligence platforms joined Stripe, a payments company that works to serve online businesses, in companies that made M&A news in April.
Stripe acquired Boston-based TaxJar, a cloud-based suite of tax services, which can be used to automatically calculate, report and file sales taxes. The acquisition brought Stripe’s value to $95 billion.

Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Nuance Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: NUAN) entered into a definitive agreement under which Microsoft will acquire Burlington-based Nuance for $56 per share.
Demand Science, a buyer intelligence platform acquired two companies: Internal Results, a marketing performance company, and Leadiro, a sales intelligence and data company. The acquisition has allowed Demand Science to obtain a global market.
SmartBear, a software development company, announced it has entered an agreement to acquire Bugsnag, an application stability management platform.
Lyniate, an international network of healthcare systems, acquired Datica Integrate, a compliance and security cloud company.
