Tuesday, October 10

Tech Breakfast Club (Boston Edition): Join Boston founders, young VCs and operators for breakfast in the city. The breakfast is hosted by leaders from InnoCrew, bulletpitch, Tech Breakfast Club and Fifth Down Capital. The location is private until attendees sign up.

Wednesday, October 11

Boston Fintech Week 2023: Boston Fintech Week is a collaboration between Fintech Sandbox and the broader fintech ecosystem and startup community. What started as a grassroots gathering has grown into a full week each year when the global fintech community gathers in Boston. Now in its sixth year, Boston Fintech Week is a series of events highlighting the latest fintech happenings hosted by a variety of organizations. This year’s Boston Fintech Week is taking place Oct. 10-13, including a two-day ticketed conference hosted by Fintech Sandbox on Oct. 11 and 12. General admission to the conference costs $259.

Wednesday, October 11

Microsoft Tech Talk — Generative AI, Trends from the Industry:  In the upcoming MIT CSAIL talk, Reshmi Ghosh, an applied scientist at Microsoft’s search, assistance, and intelligence team, will discuss the transformative trends from the industry associated with LLMs, emphasizing their capability to produce human-like responses, assist in intricate tasks, facilitate design processes, and enhance synthetic data generation and labeling. Furthermore, she will shed light on the pressing challenges and potential pitfalls inherent to LLMs, particularly the risk of societal biases in their outputs and system vulnerabilities. This free event is at noon at MIT’s Stata Center.

ChileMass Innovation Day 2023 — The Year of Inflection: As the largest Chilean innovation event outside the country, it serves as a meeting ground for all those involved in the innovation ecosystem of Chile and the United States. It provides an opportunity to discover and be inspired by the latest technological advancements in various areas, foster collaborative networks, exchange ideas, and cultivate high-value business and technological ventures. This year the event will delve into the transformative power of generative AI, the latest developments in renewable energies, and cutting-edge research in health and aging. Tickets to the two-day event cost $250. This event is hosted by the Chile Massachusetts Alliance at the MIT Student Center.

Wednesday, October 18

Out in Tech Boston | We're Here, Tech's Queer!: Join John Hancock, Out in Tech Boston, and Out in Tech’s over-40 chapter for a social and a talk with Joan Ilacqua, the executive director of The History Project as we delve into the stories of LGBTQ+ people who brought their authentic selves to the tech world in Boston. The History Project is Boston's LGBTQ+ archives, a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting, preserving, and sharing Boston's LGBTQ+ history. This free event is at 6 p.m. at John Hancock’s office.

Thursday, October 19

Techstars Boston Fall Fireside Chat: Join Techstars Boston for a fall fireside chat and networking night with successful entrepreneurs and Harvard alumni Steve Kaufer, founder of TripAdvisor, and David Parker, founding CEO of Entrepreneurship for All. The first hour will be dedicated to the speaker section with a Q&A session and the second hour will be open networking between Techstars, Harvard, and the Boston startup community with free food/drink. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Harvard Innovation Labs. Reserve your ticket.

Thursday, October 19

Conference on Fintech for Inclusivity, Growth, and the Future: The Worcester Polytechnic Institute Business School and the Future Finance and Economics Association (FFEA) will host the inaugural conference on "Fintech for inclusivity, growth, and the future," the first time FFEA will offer a conference event in the United States. The conference is from October 19 to 21. Learn more and purchase tickets.

Thursday, October 19

5th Annual Cybersecurity Entrepreneurship Forum: Join the commonwealth's top cybersecurity entrepreneurs, operators, and investors for an afternoon of robust discussion, panels, networking, and a new startup showcase hosted by .406 Ventures, AGC Partners, and Goodwin. This year, for the first time, the event will feature a startup showcase designed to yield the floor to early-stage ideas, in front of an audience of operators and investors. This free event will be held at District Hall from 1-5 p.m. 

Tuesday, October 24

Founders Live Boston: Five founders will take the stage with only 99 seconds to pitch their company followed by four minutes of audience Q&A. Then the crowd votes on who will receive our winner’s package and the opportunity to talk more about their product or service. Bring your friends and coworkers, grab some food and drink, get to know your local entrepreneurs, and vote for what you think will be the next big thing built in Massachusetts. General admission tickets are $10. The event is from 6-9 p.m.

Wednesday, October 25

Mass Digital Health October Sandbox Networking Event: Join Mass Digital Health and PracticePoint at WPI for their networking event as a part of their Mass Digital Health networking series. The theme of the event is: Smart, Wireless, & Still Secure — Considerations for Smart Medical Devices and Networks. This networking event is from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at WPI.
