September M&A deal roundup: 3D printing, Covid-19 antibodies and AI data

Check out the seven mergers and acquisitions of tech and life sciences companies BostInno reported on in September.

  • Waltham's Repligen Corp. is acquiring Metenova AB, a Swedish lab equipment firm.
  • Boston-based Akeneo is acquiring Unifai, an AI data company.
  • Med-tech giant Boston Scientific Corp. has agreed to buy Relievant Medsystems, a Minnesota-based medical device company, for at least $850 million in cash.
  • Battery Ventures has acquired the software products division of GrammaTech. The deal establishes a new, independent entity that will operate as CodeSecure Inc. and be headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland.
  • Billerica-based Conformis Inc., a maker of 3D-printed, personalized orthopedic implants, has been acquired by restor3d Inc.
  • Burlington-based Desktop Metal Inc. plans to remain an independent company after its planned $1.8 billion merger with polymer 3D printing company Stratasys Ltd. was terminated due to lack of support from Stratasys' shareholders.
  • Abpro Corp, a Woburn biotech behind antibodies for Covid-19, cancer and eye disease is set to go public through a reverse-merger with New York-based Atlantic Coastal Acquisition Corp. II, a special-purpose acquisition company.
