Alarm.com says it has 35 employees working out of its Boston office and is hiring for software engineer and software technical lead roles. Boston is one of more than 20 locations Alarm.com has around the globe, including offices in Brooklyn, New York, and Amsterdam, Netherlands. Globally Alarm.com has more than 1,800 full-time employees.

The company was founded in 2000 as a business unit of MicroStrategy. Nine years later Alarm.com Holdings Inc. was established as its own entity. The company provides security and surveillance systems and technology for homes and businesses.

Alarm.com’s new Boston office is located in a 12-story building constructed in 1902. 18 Tremont is a total of 200,000 square feet of office and retail space. It also has amenities for tenants like common conference facilities, a fitness center with locker rooms and bicycle storage.

Alarm.com said it moved into this new office due to its growing team. The new space has additional meeting rooms, a testing area for products and a secret game room with a pub-like vibe.

Fusion Design Consultants designed the space with inspiration drawn from elements of the city. For example, the lighting fixtures were influenced by the MBTA map, and the conference rooms are named after local T stations.
