Check out these 11 mergers and acquisitions of tech and life sciences companies we reported on in January.

  • CareAcademy completed its acquisition of assets from NextStep, a digital healthcare training and job placement company for certified nursing assistants. 
  • Ross Acquisition Corp. II, a Florida-based special purpose acquisition company, entered into a merger agreement with Cambridge-based Aprinoia Therapeutics in a $280 million deal.
  • Cambridge-based Leap Therapeutics announced it plans to acquire a Pennsylvania drugmaker in an all-stock deal. 
  • Boston-based Appfire acquired more than twenty products from ServiceRocket, a tech-enabled services company. 
  • Shoobx, a 2022 BostInno Fire Awards honoree, has been acquired by Boston-based Fidelity Investments. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Shoobx is a Cambridge-based fintech that helps companies with equity and board management, as well as storing and sharing important business information. 
  • Waltham-based CinCor Pharma Inc. is set to be acquired by AstraZeneca plc in a deal worth up to $1.8 billion.
  • Vista Equity Partners is buying Boston-based Duck Creek Technologies for approximately $2.6 billion in cash.
  • Paris, France-based Ipsen is set to acquire Albireo, a Boston company focused on treatments for pediatric and adult cholestatic liver diseases. 
  • Ensoma, a Boston genomic medicines company, announced a definitive agreement to acquire Twelve Bio ApS, a gene editing company. 
  • Burlington-based Progress, a provider of application development and infrastructure software, has agreed to acquire MarkLogic, a Vector Capital portfolio company.
  • PTC has completed its acquisition of ServiceMax from an entity majority owned by Silver Lake.
