Oracle and Adobe veteran Andrew Arocha has joined Drift Inc. as its new chief revenue officer.

The Boston-based marketing and sales software maker is bringing on new leaders as it prepares for what it’s calling its next phase of growth.

Last month, David Cancel, the company’s co-founder, announced he was stepping down from his role as CEO. Cancel was replaced by Scott Ernst, a marketing technology and consumer data leader who was previously the CEO of Tubular Labs and Macromill.

At the time, Ernst told BostInno he was a “go-to-market leader” who was focused on building a “strong and enduring company.”

Arocha will be part of that mission as he takes on leading the global sales organization and driving company growth, Drift said in a statement.

“Andrew has an impressive track record of scaling organizations, which will be key as Drift continues to solidify our leadership in the digital experience category,” Ernst said in a statement. “He joins us at a pivotal moment in Drift’s history and will be integral to Drift’s market momentum.”

The company’s previous chief revenue officer, Todd Barnett, was hired at the beginning of the pandemic and stepped down from his role at Drift in February, according to a spokesperson.

Arocha was previously the group vice president for Oracle Marketing Cloud, the group vice president of enterprise sales and area vice president for digital marketing at Adobe and a vice president of business user sales at SAP.

“I’ve witnessed first-hand the monumental advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning and know the market is ripe for Drift to capitalize. I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves in service of Drift’s incredible team and work with my counterparts across the company to grow Drift’s entire revenue system,” Arocha said.

Drift reached a valuation of more than $1 billion last year. The company said it serves more than 5,000 customers and has 600 employees across six global locations.
