With students out of school for the summer, we’ve also included some Boston-area events for young people interested in tech. International Conference on Recent Innovations in Computer Science, Engineering and Technology: This event will bring together academic and enterprise experts in the sectors of engineering and technology in a collaborative gathering. The event is organized by the SciencePlus Global Research Forum. Attendees who are not presenting pay $150 for entrance to the conference. Learn more

Thursday, July 7

BE+ Building Tech Forum 2022: This event will discuss the innovations in building technology creating a diverse community, an environment of net positive systems of water and energy, financial and social equity and ecological and human health. General admission costs $85. The event will be held at District Hall in the Seaport and kicks off at 5 p.m. Learn more.

Friday, July 8

Open Lab — Teen Tech Time: THE LAB at the Boston Public Library is a space for teens to interact and create with cutting edge technology. This digital makerspace can be used for music production, digital 2D and 3D art, coding projects, animation, etc. During Open Lab this space will be available for any teens to come in and explore however they choose. Check out what teens will have access to.

Monday, July 11

Marketing Your Business On TikTok: In this session hosted by CWE Central MA, you will learn advanced marketing tactics for TikTok. The program will teach you a way to never run out of content ideas and establish yourself as an expert in your field on TikTok. The free, virtual event starts at noon.

Thursday, July 14

New Innovation Trail Sneak Peek: The Innovation Trail focuses primarily on Boston’s innovation ecosystem after America became an independent nation. Led by Scott Kirsner, this trail will visit the sites of four centuries of world-changing breakthroughs from Boston. This free walking tour will depart from the lobby of One Broadway at 4:15 p.m. and should return by 5:15 p.m.

Thursday, July 14

ENET 2022 Boston Harbor Sunset Networking Cruise: The Boston Entrepreneur’s Network will host its annual networking cruise for the first time since 2019. Attendees will board the boat at 6:45 p.m., and cruise from 7:15-9:30 p.m., with additional networking on the boat dockside until 9:45 pm. The event includes a light dinner catered by Off the Vine Catering. There will also be a cash bar. Reserve your spot for $55, or $45 if you’re an ENET member.

Solutions to the Challenges of Rural Business Ownership: Boston SCORE will host this hour-long session solely dedicated to answering your questions by an expert panel, including members from the USDA and SCORE Mentor Kent Adams, who specializes in assisting rural business owners. The free virtual event starts at 1 p.m.

Wednesday, July 20

Women in Tech Happy Hour: This is a casual networking event for women and underrepresented genders in hardware and tech. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at Lumafield in Cambridge. Check out the details.

M2D2 IMPACT Cycle 3 Accelerator Pitch-Off: Join Massachusetts life sciences community as the startups from the Cycle 3 Cohort pitch their medical device solution to a panel of judges. These startups are working with M2D2 and Hologic to advance the commercialization of their innovation through the IMPACT Accelerator Program. This free event takes place at the UMass Lowell iHub and starts at 4 p.m.

2022 Babson Summer Venture Showcase: Presented by the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship at Babson College, the Summer Venture Program is a 10-week accelerator that builds entrepreneurial leadership skills and knowledge, provides resources, tools, and expert connections, and helps student entrepreneurs move their ventures forward. See 13 Babson College student startup teams pitch their ventures and meet them in networking. The free event starts at 1 p.m. at Babson College.

Summer Institute in Global Leadership — Tech and Diplomacy: The United Nations Association of Greater Boston's Summer Institute in Global Leadership is a week-long Model UN program for students from all over the world to work together and address global issues. This in-person program takes place from July 25-29 in Cambridge and costs $745 per student. Learn more.
