Boston-area students don’t have to look far to find a well-paying internship this summer.

Glassdoor released its annual list of the companies offering the highest-paying internships in the U.S. By our count, at least 16 of the top 25 companies have a presence in Greater Boston, including Cambridge-based HubSpot and Boston-based Bain & Company.

The companies on this year’s list are paying interns up to $9,600 in median monthly pay (or the equivalent of $115,200 per year), which is more than double the annualized salary for interns across the U.S. To compile the list, Glassdoor calculated the median monthly base pay of salaries provided by current or former U.S.-based interns between Feb. 14, 2021, and Feb. 12, 2022.

Capital One Financial Corp. captured one of the top spots in this year’s ranking, coming in third behind Roblox and Uber. The company has a 78,000-square-foot office in Kendall Square. Glassdoor estimated that Capital One interns earned $8,333 in median monthly pay.

Capital One hosted nearly 700 interns across all its locations last year, according to a spokesperson. The company offers 10-week long summer internships in areas such as management, finance, design and technology. In addition to their salary, the spokesperson said interns often receive housing and relocation assistance and participate in programming throughout the summer.

Coming in right behind Capital One is Salesforce Inc. The company’s website says it has offices in Boston, Burlington and Cambridge, with about 1,450 employees between these locations. A Salesforce spokesperson said the company offers 12-week summer internships with a focus on engineering, research and data science roles. Glassdoor lists the company’s median monthly intern salary as $8,167. Around 80% of interns return as full-time employees, according to a spokesperson.

The sales and marketing tech firm HubSpot captured the top spot among companies headquartered in the Boston area. Glassdoor listed the Cambridge company’s median monthly intern pay as $7,500. HubSpot’s website says it offers 10-week internships and six-month co-ops. The company declined to share additional details about its programs.

Oracle Corp. brings on more than 150 interns for its Boston-area offices every year, according to a spokesperson. It hires interns in software engineering, data science, cybersecurity and user experience. In addition to their salaries, which Glassdoor puts at $7,250 a month, interns are also offered housing support, travel costs, welcome gifts and other perks, per a spokesperson. Around 75% of interns return for full-time roles.

“We compete for the best talent in the world and the pay reflects that. A large percentage of our interns become full-time employees, so it is a fantastic investment to hire the best students, pay them competitively and bring them back to start their careers with Oracle,” the company said in a statement.

Glassdoor found that tech companies account for 17 out of the 25 companies with the highest-paying internships. Around 60% of internship job titles at tech firms on this list were software engineering or development related. Other roles included data science and engineering, financial analysis, UX, machine learning and non-technical roles such as product management, marketing and diversity and inclusion specialists.
