Boston startups Mentor Collective and Stavvy are among the local companies honored by the Tech in Motion Timmy Awards announced this week.

Mentor Collective, which creates mentoring programs for students and companies, got the "Best Tech for Good" award, and Stavvy, which is building a paperless lending platform, was given the "Best Tech Startup" award.

Other honorees include meQuilibrium, which was rewarded for best tech culture in small and medium companies; The Predictive Index, which received the same for large companies; and roadside assistance provider Agero, whose director of product management Mary Reese was named best tech manager.

The Boston winners will go on to compete for the North American Timmy Awards, judged by executives at companies including Netflix and PayPal.

"We are excited to be able to highlight companies attracting and retaining tech talent to the area, and we are impressed by the forward-thinking leadership, innovation and positive work environments cultivated by these regional winners," said Mandy Walker, executive director of marketing at Motion Recruitment, which founded Tech in Motion.
