The New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA) may not have been able to pack innovators into the House of Blues for this year's NEVY Awards, but the theme of this year's ceremony paid homage to our new reality: "2OZ0 NEVYs: There's No Place Like Home."
Presented by Dell Technologies, the 2020 NEVY Awards honored early- and late-stage companies as well as venture capital firms in five industry categories: technology, health care, life sciences, medtech and cleantech. As for the awards, NEVCA does not select the nominees; they are selected by academies consisting of seven to 10 investors in different sectors.
“Just like the year of 2020, our NEVYs award ceremony was like no other in its history. We came together safely and virtually to recognize the strength and tenacity of New England’s entrepreneurs and investors — but of course, offered the pomp and flair everyone expected,” NEVCA President Jody Rose said in a statement. “We are honored to celebrate the hard work and success of our community and offer a bit of levity in these unique times.”
