Brianna Wu, a Boston game developer and co-founder of Giant Spacekat, intends to run for Congress in 2018, according to VentureBeat.

It's not official. But she posted a photo on Facebook Tuesday that reads, "Brianna Wu for Congress," and, "She fought the alt-right and won. Now she's fighting for all of us. Fearless leadership for 2018." Multiple Facebook users commented on the post asking in which district Wu will run, but there’s so far been no answer back any of them.

Wu is known for co-founding independent game development studio Giant Spacekat. However, she garnered public attention amid Gamergate, a controversy that began in 2014 in which individuals were harassing women in the gaming community. Wu criticized supporters of Gamergate and, in response, became a target herself. She began to receive death and rape threats, among other forms of harassment.

Wu has placed an emphasis on revamping the economy. She told Venture Beat, “Here in Massachusetts, taxpayers spend an amazing amount on subsidizing education--particularly with infrastructure. But then students and entrepreneurs take that investment by our state to San Francisco or Austin.

"I think we can do a much better job keeping startups here in our state. Also, look at the game industry, which has been devastated here in Boston with the loss of Irrational and others."

Wu expressed interest in serving on the House technology subcommittee. She went on to explain that people who truly understand technology should be the ones shaping tech policy, calling it "a national security issue."

1/ @sarahjeong had a piece in the @washingtonpost last week that summed up why I'm running for congress.

3/ We're getting diminishing returns on writing and speaking out about harassment. I think next step is running for office and passing laws.

5/ My message is straightforward: If they won't get it done, I will. I realize standing for women is a core value of who we are as Democrats
