Yesterday's State of Innovation Forum was a great success. Four dynamic panels comprised of industry experts from all backgrounds discussed (and disputed) hot topics and local trends in mobile, marketing, education, and retail/e-commerce. Our moderators kept things interesting, and fueled the fire behind our opinionated experts.
Our marketing panelists discussed everything from the science behind viral content to whether or not Tumblr was a good buy for Yahoo!, and the experts landed all over the board, literally speaking. That's because, with our twist on the traditional panel discussion, the panelists rated their thoughts on these topics prior to the Forum, but didn't have any idea where their co-panelists fell along the spectrum until they were on stage. This format allowed for some interesting debates and genuine reactions!
Mobile panelists disputed if every company needs a mobile app, and if messaging is the killer app for smartphones. Want to find out how they stacked up? You may be surprised. Stay tuned for all-encompassing video content coming soon!
During the education panel, a panelist polled the audience to discover that only 30% said they are using the skills that came with their college degree. Our panelists weighed in with their expertise and discussed whether experience or education is more important, and why. Check out our Research Reports and Infographics for even more in-depth profiling of the education scene in Boston.
And now, we'll ask the consumer: does having a brick and mortar storefront strengthen a brand in your eyes? Panelists from Wayfair, Life is good, CustomMade, Google, and Karmaloop discussed their thoughts and strategies in the retail/e-commerce sphere, both online and off. Catch up with their responses on Twitter (#BSOIForum) and see all the content here.
