We’re in a State of Innovation, Boston. Massachusetts churns out disruptive companies worth multi-millions on the regular. Not to mention that our fair state is also home to some of the world’s most talented innovators and adept investors, all striving to make major impacts on their industries.
But this is just the beginning.
On Thursday, June 12, more than 1,000 local business leaders and entrepreneurial visionaries will assemble at the Westin Waterfront for the second-ever BostInno State of Innovation Forum, an event designed to explore the budding fields ripe for innovation.
Focused on a foursome of pillar categories – marketing and advertising, retail e-commerce, education and mobile — the program aims to reveal key insights, promising to be equally provocative and entertaining.
A series of panels and breakout sessions will bring together some of the brilliant minds behind each of the aforementioned genres. Prepare yourself for a delightful slice of drama, too. Each panelist will be polled beforehand on a number of controversial questions. During the event, their answers will then be revealed for all to see, meaning those with dissenting opinions will have no choice but to make their argument and duke it out.
We expect the marketing and advertising panel to be especially intriguing – these are masters of the market and customer persuasion, after all. Take a look at the familiar names and faces in the field below, and scoop up your ticket for State of Innovation here.
Anne Weiskopf, VP of Business Development at DigiDay
This leading marketing lady will be among those taking the mic to discuss the latest industry innovations. Considering BU alum Weiskopf has molded local digital marketing agency DigiDay's selling strategy to success, we won’t be surprised when she woos the crowd next week.

Sean Corcoran, SVP at Mullen
As an SVP at the Downtown Boston advertising powerhouse, Corcoran understands the subtleties and strategies in the social influencer game. And influence Mullen's clients will: The full-service integrated agency has a client list as impressive as it is lengthy, including JetBlue, National Geographic Channels, Bose, Timberland and American Greetings.
Jamie Scheu, VP of Content at Hill Holliday
How do you create content that sticks with your consumers? Scheu heads up the cutting-edge agency's content efforts, spinning out fresh copy that the masses can’t help but share, for Hill Holliday clients, which include Bank of America, Dunkin' Donuts, Cadillac, The ONE Fund and more.
Ted Nelson, CEO at Mechanica
The entrepreneurial adman has a career steeped in industry expertise after a tenure at Mullen. Since breaking ground on Mechanica 10 years ago, Nelson has managed his team’s brand-building efforts for Saucony, Communispace, Akamai and Disney, among others.
