Fifth Boston TechJam Brings More Food, Tunes and Tech

With the newly announced lineup, Boston’s tech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and tech enthusiasts can see which companies are attending the who’s who summer tech event in downtown Boston next week.

Boston TechJam, a gathering of startups, entrepreneurs, well-known tech firms, venture capitalists, nonprofits and tech enthusiasts, is set to take over City Hall Plaza on June 15 from 4 to 9 pm. The full lineup for the event, which was announced June 6, includes big-name companies like Amazon, Microsoft,  TiVo, TripAdvisor, Wayfair and Monster, as well as prominent Boston-based startups like LevelUp and Cybereason.

Founded in 2012, the event is expected to draw more than 7,000 participants. In addition to networking with companies and individuals in tech, attendees can hear key insights from guest speakers, play games, view tech exhibits and enjoy live music.

“Attendees have been asking for more opportunities to learn from the wealth of experience and knowledge Boston has to offer, so we’re thrilled to bring speakers back to Boston TechJam this year,” said TechJam co-founder Mark Lorion, president and GM of Apperian. “These high-caliber guests will appeal to everyone–from students just starting out to long-time, seasoned executives.”

Speakers will discuss Boston’s audio tech scene, how Massachusetts is shaping the fitness industry, and how robots are improving the world.  WBUR’s Asma Khalid will moderate a discussion with Boston tech leaders on diversity, talent and leadership.

Meanwhile, attendees can enjoy live music from East Coast Soul and Spiritual Rez and munch on food from Boston’s favorite food trucks such as Sabroso Taqueria, Zo on the Go, Vice Cream and The Sausage Guy.

“Boston TechJam, now in its fifth year, is a networking event unlike any other: a giant block party with innovative companies showing off their latest inventions,” said Ben Maitland-Lewis, CEO of PrettyInstant.com and founding music and entertainment director of Boston TechJam. “The incredibly fun and unique-to-the-area atmosphere really brings the community together to celebrate all that we as a city are contributing to the world.”

You can register for Boston TechJam here June 15 at the City Hall Plaza.
