Happy National Napping Day, Boston Tech Community! Quick disclaimer for this week's BostInno Approved: Blizzards have a tendency to screw things up. Exhibit A: our annual Tech Madness Reveal Blowout at Game On Fenway has been rescheduled to next Tuesday, March 21.  We'll keep our eyes on the events listed here in case there are any more cancellations.

Monday, March 13

MIT Enterprise Forum’s annual Connected Things conference: Meet tech leaders from GE Digital, IBM Cloud, SAP and Blue Archive from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at MIT Media Lab. Attendees will learn about the acceleration and optimization of Internet of Things, through a series of panels and networking sessions. Ticket prices vary from $30 to $325.

Slalom: Automated UI Testing Using Apple’s XCTest/Swift: Interested in Automated User Interface testing? Probably — if you’re a quality assurance professional. Learn about Apple’s latest moves in this field, such as Swift programming language and the XCTest. Attendees will get insight into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The informational event is held in the Slalom Newbury office, starting at 6 p.m. The event is free.

Hacking FOIA: Learn how to Open Government with Public Records: Stop by Northeastern University at 6:30 p.m., to learn how to access government databases. The event is geared towards hackers that want to know more about how to use the law to gain insight into government agencies and files. Starting at 6:30 p.m., Michael Morisy, founder of FOIA non-profit MuckRock, will lead the discussion. The event is free.

Tuesday, March 14

Future Titans of Industry 4.0: Techstars IoT + MassChallenge: Held by Techstars, this networking event is geared toward innovative and energetic tech startups looking to get in on some emerging trends. The managing director of Techstars IoT, Jenny Fielding, will be giving a short talk. The event is at MassChallenge HQ from 4:00 p.m. to 6, and it is free to attend.

Saving Environment with IoT: Smart Watering with Predix: Learn how an IoT solution can solve droughts, help the environment and track weather data in this free webinar from 1:00 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST. Graduate Research Assistant Abhilash Shrivastava will be leading the talk, explaining how to use GE Predix, a cloud-based platform, to create a smart watering system for real-life scenarios. It is free to attend, RSVP online.

Decode Boston: App Annie bringing its global event tour back to Boston, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the State Room on 60 State Street. Attendees are invited to learn about acquisition, monetization and competitive strategies - all while meeting with various leaders from Chicago’s app network. The night also a fireside chat and drinks with hors d’oeuvres. It is free to attend.

Engineer to Entrepreneur: Startup Basics for Techies: Come chill at HubSpot HQ from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to learn the best practices and strategies for those interested in starting their entrepreneurial journey. Attendees with technical backgrounds are invited to join and hear stories from engineers-turned-entrepreneurs. The event is free, but make sure to reserve a ticket.

Wednesday, March 15

Quantum Quandaries and Other Heavy Matters: Come hang at MIT Museum from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 to learn about the stranger things in our physical universe.  Lisa Barsotti, the principle research scientist, at LIGO Laboratory at MIT and Tracy Slatyer, an assistant professor of physics at MIT, will be speaking about Gravity Waves and Dark Matter. Attendees will learn about the invention, ideas and innovation associated with space, and get a glance into the unconventional tech world. The event is free.

Launch Academy Boston has an open house from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30, for those interested in coding and tech boot camps. The informational session will touch upon industry basics and give attendees a sense of what it means to join a coding bootcamp or developer networks. Talk to managers and alumni at Launch Academy at their HQ at 77 Summer Street. It is free to attend.

Investing 101: Learn how to invest over a cup of coffee at Cosi’s Bolyston location from 9:00 a.m. to 10. Caffeine lovers will discuss stocks, bonds, mutual funds and financial worries. No need to RSVP, and it is free to attend this casual conversation.

Workbar Cambridge is hosting a Music+Tech meetup titled “Next Generation” for student entrepreneurs and industry experts. Held by The Student Entrepreneurship Association and BerkleeICE, the event will feature brainstorming sessions, presentations, networking and, yes, hot pizza. Learn about the intersection between music and technology in this free to attend the event.

Mass Innovation Nights is hosting its monthly networking session from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30, at Cramer in Norwood, MA. Come learn about brand experience, while focusing on storytelling, branding and creativity. The event is free to attend.

Thursday, March 16

After Work Networking Mixer: Grab a drink at Bar Louie at Fenway from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00, for some fast-track networking and casual conversations. Meet individuals from around the industry through professional speed dating. Tickets range from $10 to $20.

New Directions in Mobile: This breakfast event invites sale and marketing professionals to converse, learn and debate over the future of mobile communications. Hear more about the future of mobile software in this event, that includes a roundtable discussion with George Adams, the co-founder and CEO of rapid mobile app development platform ViziApps. Starting at 7:30 a.m., this event is held at the Newton Marriott. Tickets are $40.

Friday, March 17

Localytics St. Paddy's Day Free Beer Friday: Come celebrate at Localytics HQ from 4:30 p.m. to 7 in this St. Patrick's Day inspired networking session. There will be free beer, free food and according to the event page, the possibility of bagpipes. This event is the 2017 kickoff to Free Beer Fridays, and is a chance to meet other Boston startup entrepreneurs and professionals in a fun environment. The event is free, just RSVP on Facebook.

No other events for today, let the St. Patrick's Day celebrations begin.

Sunday, March 19

Reaching New Heights: Gender Equality Transforming Today’s Corporate Ladder: Held by Eye2Eye, a service organization founded by Boston University’s chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, this event is open to the public and free to attend. Come learn about a variety of diversity and inclusion efforts, through panels, networks and keynotes. The first annual conference is sponsored by EY, PwC, Deloitte, Accenture, Questrom School of Business, Boston University, and BU’s chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi. The event is held at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business from 9:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. It is free to attend.

The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Boston will be continuing on as scheduled at 1 p.m. The parade will have its arms open to the gay and transgender military veterans that have served our country.
