Monday, Jan. 23

Startup Linkup—Pairing Entrepreneurs with Mentors: TechSandBox hosts this event from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 at its Hopkinton office. The event costs $10.

Spark! Networking at Danvers Workbar: This event runs from 7 p.m. to 9 at the Workbar at the Staples in Danvers. The event is free.

Get to Know Building 36, Smart Home Solutions Company: This meetup runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 at Building 36’s Needham office. The event is free.

Tuesday, Jan. 24

The Future of Talent—Radical Approaches to Onboarding: General Assembly co-hosts this event with MassTLC from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 at General Assembly’s 125 Summer St. location. The panelists are all Wayfair employees: Director of Global Talent Acquisition Matthew Doucette, Software Engineer Billy Yau, Engineer Matthew Gay and Wayfair Labs Program Manager Rosa Carson. The event is free.

Sale Skills for Freelance Entrepreneurs: BostonSpeaks hosts this event from noon to 1:30 p.m. at 50 Milk St. in Boston. The speaker is BostonSpeaks founder Kit Pang. The event costs $25.

Startup Night at the Symphony: Startup Stir hosts this event from 6:30 p.m. to 10 at Boston Symphony Hall. The event will include a backstage tour and a wine and cheese reception. The event costs $37.

Free Capital Raising Workshop + Pitch 2017: The event runs from 3:30 p.m. to 9 at Business District on Huntington Avenue in Boston. The workshop runs from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30, and the pitch round runs from 6 p.m. to 9. The pitch round costs $30 for presenting entrepreneurs and $15 for everyone else.

Climate Preparedness in Massachusetts—How Systems Thinking will Drive Technology and Policy: The MIT Enterprise Forum hosts this event from 5:30 p.m. to 9 at the MIT Stata Center. Speakers include Neil Gerber, director of new energy and environment at IBM and GE Current CEO Maryrose Sylvester. Showcase companies include Ampion, Global Thermostat, Kevala and OmniEarth. The Future of IoT—An Interactive Discussion: TiE Boston hosts this event from 6 p.m. to 9 at the East Arcade Conference Center in Cambridge.
