This Year's TechJam Pitch Contest to Highlight Local Accelerator Startups

As you might have read previously, TechJam is returning to Boston’s City Hall Plaza on June 11, from 4 to 9 p.m. This year’s event, which will bring together thousands of entrepreneurs, tech professionals, and VCs, has similar perks to previous years, including food trucks, local beer and live music. But there’s a new element for this year's TechJam: A newly formatted pitch tournament, in which some of the top local incubators and accelerators — such as BoltCambridge Innovation CenterConstant Contact’s Small Business Innovation ProgramLearnLaunch and MassChallenge — will present startups to pitch in front of attendees and a panel of leading local venture capitalists.

“Boston TechJam has become an incredible platform for local collaboration," said Mark Lorion, co-founder of Boston TechJam and CMO of Apperian, in an email. "There are hundreds of projects going on simultaneously from city-backed initiatives, to ground-level gatherings. What’s different about TechJam is it brings everyone together under one tent to celebrate and accelerate.”

Boston TechJam has quickly grown into the largest innovation event in the region — and considering the fact that last year’s event sold out days in advance with more than 3,000 attendees, you’ll definitely want to register well ahead of time. And remember: 100 percent of the admission price goes to support computing education in Massachusetts via the MassTLC Education Foundation.
