BostInno is accepting nominations for its annual startup bracket challenge.

Inno Madness is designed to generate awareness and excitement for Boston's startup ecosystem — and those that are driving it forward. We’re looking for all types of innovators to participate in this year’s competition.

So, how does Inno Madness work? It's easy. Nominate a local startup. We’re looking for tech-enabled businesses or companies that support innovation. The Inno team will then assemble brackets based on your nominations.

Inno Madness is a friendly competition, designed to showcase the local innovation scene's best and brightest. But it is still, to be clear, a competition. We invite you to get your employees into the competition’s spirit by voting and sharing the latest Inno Madness brackets on social media.

We’ll reveal the bracket in March, and companies will go head-to-head throughout six rounds with you, our readers, voting to determine who moves on from every matchup. Every week, we’ll post the updated bracket and voting will begin again. We’ll announce our annual Inno Madness winner at the end.

Here's what to consider:

  • Has the company raised any funding?
  • In one sentence, why would you invest in this company (i.e., an interesting concept or product, social impact, long-term potential, etc.)?
  • What else do you want to share about the company you are nominating?

Nominations can be submitted here.

Last year, Realtime Robotics took home the Inno Madness crown. The Boston-based company creates collision-free motion plans for industrial robots and autonomous vehicles. Realtime Robotics garnered nearly 80% of the votes in the final round.

“Our whole team got really fired up this year. There was a huge buzz in Slack,” George Konidaris, co-founder and chief technology officer of Realtime Robotics, told BostInno. “It was kind of fun, but certainly nerve wracking to watch. There was a lot of 'wake up in the morning and check where you are' moments.”

Don't miss out on the excitement! The nomination period for Inno Madness ends on Feb. 12.
