The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology recently named Chris Matl chief financial officer.
Neil Lamb, president of HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, said Matl "will be an incredible asset to the institute."
Matl joins HudsonAlpha with more than 30 years of financial experience. He spent the last 25 years at Medtronic, with his last nine years there serving as the global medical device company’s CFO initially in its coronary/renal denervation operating unit and during the past four years for aortic business unit CFO. Matl is a former U.S. Marine with multiple achievements, including the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat “V” for his performance during Operation Desert Storm.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, he earned his undergraduate degree from Marquette University and a master’s degree in finance from Southern Methodist University.
According to an April 2023 report, HudsonAlpha is a major economic driver for the region. At least $4.2 billion was generated since the institute's inception, with nearly $1 billion of that added during the last two years as of April.
