Fleetio made a major addition to its C-suite in the fourth quarter, continuing the momentum from a $144.7 million Series C funding round completed earlier in the year.

Matt Mandel was named chief financial officer and chief operations officer, transitioning in as Fleetio’s first joint CFO and COO. Mandel most recently was co-CEO at Cometeer. He also previously was the head of North American transportation and delivery at Wayfair where he was responsible for millions of customer deliveries.

Two more fourth quarter additions to the leadership team include Jessica Underbrink and Leslie Hurley.

“It’s an exciting time at Fleetio as we head into 2024. This year’s funding round accelerated growth of the business and added even more exceptional talent to our team,” said CEO Jon Meachin, adding that there are now 260 Fleetians supporting nearly 6,000 customers, which he intends to build on in 2024.

Meachin took the helm as CEO of the fleet management software-as-a-service company in the spring as Tony Summerville, Fleetio’s founder, stepped back from day-to-day operations and into the role of executive chairman on Fleetio’s board of directors.

The firm also saw growth via partnerships, customer base expansion and other accolades.

This year, Fleetio expanded its existing partnership with Ford Pro, Ford’s commercial division, and its product, Ford Pro Fleet Management Software, which is built on software from Fleetio. The company expanded its customer base in 2023 with an increase in customer count, number of target markets served and geography, now serving fleets in 100 countries. Overall, in 2023, Fleetio experienced more than 45% year-over-year growth.

New notable Fleetio customers include The Biltmore Estate; Iowa Department of Transportation; Jack Daniel’s Distillery; PS Logistics, Roto-Rooter of Greensboro, North Carolina and Stanley Steemer, Mid Atlantic.

Fleetio also rolled out product enhancements in 2023 and garnered recognitions, including the BBJ's Best Places to Work, Deloitte Fast 500 Award, Forbes Advisor’s list for the Best Fleet Management Software of 2023, U.S. News & World Report Best Asset Management Software of 2023 and more.
