Del Smith and Tiffany Whitlow, the co-founders of Acclinate, a Birmingham-based technology startup, have passed Endeavor’s National Panel.
This marks the third step in the global network’s selection process and comes after Acclinate's founders presented at Endeavor's U.S. National Selection Panel held in Atlanta Nov. 1-3.
Upon receiving unanimous approval from the panelists, which included executives from Spanx, Google, VXI and Sharecare, the entrepreneurs who passed, including Accliante’s founders, received a guarantee of hands-on support for up to two years as they continue to scale their businesses. Acclinate’s founders now also have the opportunity to attend one of Endeavor’s International Panels where, if selected, will receive global support for life.
“The Endeavor panel was highly impressed with Del and Tiffany’s vision for Acclinate and their traction in the market," said Malcolm McDonald, Birmingham general manager for Endeavor.
Del Smith, co-founder and CEO of Acclinate, called the achievement "a testament to the transformative potential of Acclinate's mission to bridge the gap in clinical trial diversity."
Founded in 2020, Acclinate is integrating technology to source diverse participants for clinical trials by building relationships with communities of color. Acclinate does this through its community of 100,000 members where it provides community members with education, health resources and opportunities to participate in curated clinical research that aligns with health needs. Acclinate’s client list includes Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Genentech and others.
Endeavor Atlanta also recently unveiled that a Birmingham executive is joining its board of directors.
Tony Summerville, founder and chairman at Fleetio, joined the board in what he called a "full-circle moment."
"Endeavor has been instrumental in Fleetio’s trajectory, and I’m excited to pay it forward by supporting the next generation of Endeavor Entrepreneurs. I look forward to helping drive transformative change in our regional tech ecosystem," Summerville said.
