The founder of Birmingham venture studio Harmony Venture Labs is launching a new advisory program to help startup founders scale.
Shegun Otulana's advisory program will launch in 2023 and include intensive group sessions, dedicated one-on-one time and more.
And Otulana has an impressive resume when it comes to scaling businesses. Those include Zertis, a software consulting business; Thernest, a SaaS business focused on the mental and behavioral health industry; and Therapy Brands, a practice management software company, which led to a $1.25 billion exit for Otulana.
In 2021, he founded Harmony Venture Labs, which focused on B2B SaaS software solutions and helping other founders build companies. Companies at HVL include Copysmith AI, which is the parent company of Copysmith, Frase and Rytr, as well as CoWello, TrustSpot, Funnelfly, ListedKit, Extelli, AppThink and others. He is now an active angel investor, private equity investor and public equities investor.
HVL launched its first in-house startup in early 2022 — CoWello, a space management platform.
The advisory program is divided into "The Hypergrowth Flywheel" and "Let's Build Intensive."
The Hypergrowth Flywheel is Otulana's method that aims to help companies go from $2M ARR plus to tens of millions in recurring revenue and is a six-month advisory program.
"Few things are more fulfilling in business than building a high growth, high output company with well-aligned teams," Otulana said on his website. "For those who build and exit, the impact of the outcome is fulfilling and life changing. I’ve experienced multiple exits in my journey and am fortunate enough to work with other CEOs and founders on the path to an exit."
For those in the earlier stages, the Let’s Build Intensive aims to accelerate growth. It is a six-month "deep dive to troubleshoot the unique challenges of the early stage."
