Business leaders needing insight into digital transformation in a post-pandemic world can get answers at an upcoming cybersecurity conference.

TechBirmingham will host its seventh annual CyberNow Summit from May 11-13 Red Mountain Theatre Arts Campus. A virtual option is also available.

The conference will also use keynote speakers and sessions to explore case studies of cyber threats in the local Birmingham region.

One headline keynote speaker is Donna Gregory, FBI unit chief for the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), who will discuss the FBI’s role in cybercrime data collection, analysis and trend identification in an effort to control, reduce, mitigate and prevent cybercrime. Other keynotes include Rob Ferrill, chief information officer at UAB, who will walk through UAB’s cyberthreat from two years ago; and Dondi West, information security counsel at Tik-Tok, who will talk about what type of new cyber threats, geopolitical risks and legal challenges leaders will face with the rise of Web 3 and the Metaverse. Another panel of keynote speakers will discuss “The Post Covid Workforce in Technology."

This year’s summit will also include an AWS Immersion Day with training opportunities for beginners and advanced professionals.

“Our last two years during the coronavirus pandemic, we continued to gather virtually bringing together a larger audience of 700-plus attendees, some of which were international," said Deon Gordon, president and CEO of TechBirmingham. "TechBirmingham is excited to bring back the CyberNowSummit as a hybrid event in 2022 with in-person programming at the new Red Mountain Theatre Arts Campus and virtual programming through our PheedLoop platform. Our hybrid format allows all our attendees an opportunity to meaningfully network with each other, discuss the latest cyber topics and trends, all while earning continuing education credits through Amazon Web Services and our amazing speaker lineup this year with the help of our great partners at Infragard Birmingham Chapter."
