The Bronze Valley Accelerator program has kicked off its spring 2022 cohort, bringing in five companies from around the country to Birmingham.

According to Bronze Valley, the startups for its fifth class represent a wide variety of industries and verticals ranging from aviation software to collaborative e-readers. More than 70 startups from Alabama and beyond have applied to be a part of the program. The program started on Mar. 10 and will last seven weeks. The cohort will be held virtually.

“The 15 teams we have worked with through the Bronze Valley Accelerator to date have exceeded expectations within the short life of the accelerator,” said Haley Medved Kendrick, director of the Bronze Valley Accelerator. “The companies have created over 40 jobs and raised approximately $4.5 million in (seed) capital following the accelerator. The new class has a high bar to meet, but I believe they are well-positioned to continue to surpass the goals we set together.”

The cohort members are as follows:

• Green Regimen (Glendale, California): The company produces plant-based, organic supplements for optimal health and fitness. Green Regimen specializes in sourcing the highest quality ingredients to create organic meal replacements and post-workout protein shakes.

• Hx Innovations (Middletown, Delaware): The startup uses human movement science to provide data-driven insights and predictive analytics for athletic sporting teams to monitor fatigue, select proper endurance footwear and safeguard against foot and ankle injuries.

• Pose Button (Hampton, Georgia): The company aims to improve the e-commerce shopping experience with the use of a digital personal shopper. Pose Button tackles the challenge of finding clothing online that fits the consumer’s style, size and budget by using extended reality and artificial intelligence tools to improve the user’s customer service experience.

• Monocle (Richmond, Virginia): Monocle creates a social reading experience through real-time, shared perspectives without requiring a reader to put the book down. Readers can seamlessly connect through Monocle’s iOS and Android app, which allows readers to share their annotations and discuss with friends, classmates or another reader within the e-book itself.

• UnDelay (Atlanta, Georgia): UnDelay aims to reduce flight delays by analyzing radio conversations at airports that describe the cause of flight disruptions. UnDelay determines if a flight is having problems with departing, taxiing, pushback or overall communication. UnDelay's proprietary technology converts hundreds of radio conversations into text simultaneously and utilizes AI and advanced technology to improve the efficiency of the aviation industry.
