Birmingham tech company ConcertCare has merged with Chattanooga, Tennessee-based information technology company International Development Connection.

The merged company, now named ConcertIDC, will be headquartered in Birmingham, with the company now having over 120 employees working in four U.S. states and eight states in India.

Debra Hays, who will remain CEO of the merged entity, said the transaction was a true merger, with ConcertCare LLC owners and investors retaining 65% ownership of the new entity and IDC LLC retaining 35%. The merged company also plans to make hires, including 22 in India and three in the U.S.

“We believe the merging of our companies makes us more than twice as strong as we were as separate businesses,” Hays said. “We’re significantly strengthening our capabilities and presenting an even more robust menu of services to our clients.”

Brandon Barker, the former CEO of IDC, will now serve as chief revenue officer of ConcertIDC. He will be responsible for all activities and processes that generate revenue, including sales, pricing, marketing and corporate development. Barker will also serve as president of the ConcertIDC INC Tank, a technology incubator that transforms an early-stage idea into products or services.

“I’m tremendously excited about the new opportunities presented by this merger,” Barker said. “ConcertIDC will offer clients a powerful combination of world-class technical expertise, outstanding communication and real accountability to achieve success.”

The merged company offers full-stack software development to organizations in a broad range of industries, including health care, finance, education, social platforms, transportation and logistics.
