Birmingham startup ResBiotic has expanded its leadership team.

The startup, which is a nutrition company focused on finding and producing probiotics for lung health, is expanding its employee count to include Maggie Belshe as chief customer officer, Nina Rance as chief of staff and Mani Kukreja as director of integrative health and wellness. According to the company, the new roles will support the company’s growing customer base, referral network, product development and distribution opportunities for its flagship product, resB Lung Support.

Belshe joined ResBiotic in 2021 as executive vice president of marketing and helped position ResBiotic to become a rising microbiome-based nutrition company. Her role has expanded to include the leadership of customer experience, fulfillment and distribution functions. She previously led Endeavor's Birmingham operations. Prior to that, she was director of marketing for digital health coaching startup Pack Health.

Rance most recently served as head of business operations for Origin Primary Ltd., a London-based financial technology company that connects issuers and dealers on one platform. Prior to Origin, she was a capital partnering team analyst for private equity firm General Atlantic. As chief of staff, she will be a business partner to CEO C. Vivek Lal, overseeing day-to-day business operations and leading talent acquisition and retention for the growing team.

“In the two months since we launched resB Lung Support, we’re seeing growing demand not just for our supplement but also for information on the microbiome as it relates to lung, gut and immune health,” Lal said.

The director of integrated health and wellness position is a new role dedicated to helping customers optimize their routine with the product in the context of an individual’s health goals. Kukreja founded her own practice and has experience in helping patients optimize their lifestyle to support gut health, immune health and healthy aging.

ResBiotic has secured over $7 million in funding in the past year and was named to Alabama Inno’s Startups to Watch in 2022.
