A technology company is preparing to open a new location in Birmingham, bringing hundreds of new jobs with it.

Fetch Rewards, a Madison, Wisconsin-based tech company, will invest more than $1 million to open a new office facility and customer-support hub in the Magic City. According to Fetch Rewards, the project will create 200 new full-time jobs in the area.

The Jefferson County Commission also entered into a project development agreement with the company to provide economic incentives up to $300,000.

The new office will be located in the Parkside District at 1616 Second Ave. S. in the Stockyard Development and will be completed in the spring. The company is also hiring for number of positions including support, data integrity, engineering, product and fraud.

“With Fetch continuing to grow exponentially, Birmingham is the perfect place to launch the next chapter of our expansion,” said Wes Schroll, CEO and founder of Fetch Rewards. “It’s an up-and-coming technology and entrepreneurship hub with an incredible pool of local talent. We deeply appreciate the warm welcome we’ve received from state and county officials, and we’re so excited to be part of this community.”

According to Fetch Rewards, it recently surpassed $100 billion in actionable gross merchandise value, making it equivalent to the nation's seventh-largest retailer. Fetch works directly with consumer packaged goods companies, retailers and restaurants to give shoppers access to free rewards with every purchase. The app allows shoppers to accumulate rewards points by submitting pictures of a from any store or restaurant and by linking e-receipts from online retailers. Points are then redeemed for gift cards and other rewards within the app.

“We are thrilled to see the continued momentum of Birmingham becoming a tech hub in the Southeast with the addition of Fetch Rewards,” said Ron Kitchens, CEO of the Birmingham Business Alliance. “These are high-paying tech jobs with an average salary of $89,000 a year, which will attract even more people to our region. The presence of Shipt, Landing, Fetch and many others that are hiring hundreds of people right now is a great thing for our community.”
