Earlier this week Switzerland-based clean code platform SonarSource SA announced it raised $412 million in a round led by Advent International and General Catalyst.
Now we know a little more about how that funding will impact Austin, where the company has its U.S. headquarters.
SonarSource told Austin Inno it plans to hire about 150 local employees in the next two years. Additionally, the Austin American-Statesman reported the company is in the process of relocating to a larger office at 206 E. Ninth St.
According to the Statesman, SonarSource currently has about 70 employees in Austin and 290 worldwide.
SonarSource opened its Austin office in 2018. It is led by Vice President of Sales Patrick McKinney. As of 2021, SonarSource was in about 15,000 square feet at 111 W. Sixth St.
The company, led by co-founder and CEO Olivier Gaudin, says its platform is used by more than 5 million software developers. SonarSource also has offices in France and Germany and plans to open a regional HQ in Singapore.
The new funding round valued SonarSource at $4.7 billion, according to the announcement.
