Keith Nealon, who guided Vyze Inc. as CEO through its April acquisition by Mastercard Inc., has become chief executive of high-profile Austin technology company Bazaarvoice Inc.

The native of Dublin, Ireland, started his new CEO duties Jan. 1. He replaced Joe Davis, an operating executive at Marlin Equity Partners, who had been Bazaarvoice interim CEO since May 2018. Marlin, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, acquired Bazaarvoice in February 2018, taking it off the Nasdaq in a roughly $521 million deal.

Bazaarvoice was an early pioneer in e-commerce reviews, helping retailers host product reviews from customers on their websites. The company has more than 800 full-time employees in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, a spokeswoman said.

In a statement, Nealon heralded "recent product innovations and acquisitions focused on driving measurable results for our customers" at Bazaarvoice. He added that he was "excited to lead the business into its next phase."
