Austin sales software startup Olono has been acquired by Boston-based InsightSquared. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Olono was founded as Nexd in 2015 by James Davison, a former product manager at Austin-based SailPoint and IBM, and Dan Greff, a former director of engineering at SailPoint. It has raised around $7 million, which includes funding from ATX Venture Partners (formerly known as ATX Seed Ventures), Wildcat Venture Partners and angel investors including Bill Bock, former president of Silicon Laboratories, SailPoint co-founder Kevin Cunningham.

“At the core of effective Revenue Operations is data,” Davison said in a news release. “By joining forces with InsightSquared, organizations now have access to the most robust data set with visibility into real-time sales activity from any source. The result is a deeper understanding of patterns, common success criteria, risks and opportunities—to guide smarter business decisions."

InsightSquared, founded in 2010, has raised about $50 million, including a $23 million Series D led by Tola Capital last year. Its software helps revenue teams forecast by providing real-time data insights and sales information, as well as develop sales coaching plans.

Olono has a similar goal. It automatically pulls sales activity from a bunch of sources and suggests actions that might help close a deal.

The acquisition comes a couple years after Olono brought on Larry Warnock as CEO. He's a former Silicon Valley executive who helped lead Austin Ventures' startup incubator AV Labs and led Phurnace, which was acquired by BMC Software, as well as, more recently leading Gazzang, which was acquired by Cloudera in 2014. And he has been a consultant at SimplyTapp.

The deal also follows last year's addition of Matt Curtin as CRO. He had previously led sales and marketing at Kinnser Software, and had also worked at Bazaarvoice and FreeMarkets, where he helped take both companies through IPOs.

Olono was also honored at the Austin Chamber of Commerce's 2018 A-List Awards Ceremony.
