Austin's coworking game is strong, and it's getting stronger.

The latest player to enter the local market is Common Desk, a Dallas-Fort Worth-based company that earlier this year acquired Austin coworking company Link Coworking.

In addition to its 17,000-square-foot space on West Anderson that is already open, Common Desk announced Monday it will open a second Austin location later this year.

That space will take up the top two floors of the historic Littlefield building at 6th and Congress, which is no stranger to tech startups. Shipping software company Ordoro has an office there, and Juniper Square, a San Francisco-based real estate investment management software company, moved into a 5,000-square-foot office there earlier this year.

Founded in 2012 before a huge influx of coworking companies came into Texas, Common Desk offers an all-inclusive model that includes conference rooms, drinks and access to other amenities. Its members can also work from all of its other locations, including eight spots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and a forthcoming location in Houston.

The company has also branched out to start a coffee brand -- Fiction Coffee -- and an app called Ellum that helps folks order coffee drinks, beer and other goodies. The downtown Austin location will include a cocktail lounge, a greenhouse meeting space, shared desks and nine conference rooms.

"We have always thought Austin and our brand would be a great match, and as we continue to grow our footprint across Texas, we can’t wait to finally add Austin to our network for current and future members to enjoy,” Common Desk CEO Nick Clark said in a news release.
