New York City-based accounts payable tech company Dooap is moving its headquarters to Austin, it announced Tuesday.

Dooap, which is a subsidiary of Finnish fintech tech company Efima, also announced that it has hired a new CEO. Mikko Hytönen, who was previously CEO at software companies Toimitori and Enoro Group, will take over for Dooap co-founder Antti Kosunen, who also co-founded Efima.

"We are seeing great opportunity for AP automation in North America as companies look to gain more visibility and control over their AP operations," Hytönen said in a news release. "We have chosen Austin, as our U.S. headquarters because of its dynamic tech environment, and we are looking forward to expanding our team there significantly in the months to come.”

Dooap has a total of 19 employees, and it will start with seven people in its Austin HQ, which is in North Austin near the Domain.

"The company chose Austin after considering other markets because of its dynamic tech environment, among other factors, and plans to continue hiring throughout 2019," a spokesperson said via email.

Dooap's move to Austin comes amidst a major influx of out-of-state technology companies either moving their headquarters here or vastly expanding their existing operations in Central Texas.

Other recent moves include Zoho moving its HQ from the Bay Area to Austin in April; real estate tech brokerage REX moving here in April; Resideo's move here last winter; Procore expanding its team in Austin; and several others.
