Austin has become a hot spot for secondary offices -- Amazon, Apple, Google and Dropbox to name a few. Next up: Dialpad.

The San Francisco startup, which bills itself as a cloud communications system for remote workers, is opening a new office in town at WeWork University Park. It's their latest branch out since opening a station in Vancouver earlier this month.

The company's investors include Amasia, Andreessen Horowitz, Felicis Ventures, GV (which used to be Google Ventures), Softbank and Work-Bench. It's most recent funding was a $17M round that included new investment from Section 32 -- that made about $70 million raised to date. Dialpad employs about 185 people across several offices.

Like many tech companies, Dialpad is here for the talent mix and the quality of life.

“When we hired Richard Rivera, a native Austinite as our chief revenue officer last April, it was clear that Austin would quickly become the center of our Sales and Support organizations," Dialpad CEO and co-founder Craig Walker said in a news release.

The company has 29 people in Austin now, and it's hiring six more.
