Inside Spanning's Dog Days of Summer

When it comes to brining your dog to work, few, if any, tech companies have a policy as dog-friendly as Spanning, the Austin cloud-based app company.

Even before I got to the company's office at 5th and Congress Avenue, I spotted a happy pooch named Rupert in the parking garage. He -- and his equally friendly owner -- knew the way to the office, so I followed them down one elevator and up the next. The whole time, I was kinda giggling inside as the doggie walked by the basement bank vault and then past a wine and booze vault before entering a tech office.

What on Earth might this dog be thinking? He's headed to work with the same apparent dignity and forthrightness as just about any bipedal beings. And when he arrived, it seemed like my new furry friend was the big dog on campus as a few other dogs raced his way to greet and sniff.

There were at least 10 dogs at Spanning on Friday, which was 'take your dog to work' day. At a glance, it looked like the humans only had a slight edge in numbers.

Typically, you'll find at least three dogs in the office. But Friday was for all the dogs.

Anyway... let's see those pups!

Breaking-Bad

And, what good is a day at the office without a little reward...
