With major hacks into Equifax, voter databases and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission -- not to mention new ransomware like WannaCry -- it's no wonder why high-impact cybersecurity companies are growing quickly.
Among them is Austin-based NSS Labs. The company, founded in 1991, has raised $27 million, including a $16 million round last year led by Colorado-based Delta-v Capital and Austin’s LiveOak Venture Partners. It's among this year's Austin Inno 50 on Fire companies.
Now, as cyber booms, NSS Labs is moving into a new headquarters near one of Austin's top greenbelts at Loop 360 and South MoPac. The 23,000-square-foot space has floor to ceiling windows looking out over that pretty swath of green.
It also has a game room with ping pong tables, Jenga and other games. And employees can keep moving with automated sit or stand desks. The space has nine conference rooms and a covered parking garage.
Meanwhile, it has a kitchen space that's stocked with goodies and a high-end espresso machine. The NSS Labs team gets lunch catered in everyday, and, as is increasingly common for Austin tech companies, it's dog-friendly.
NSS Labs also has an executive staff that is more than 50 percent women, a rarity in the tech world.
Let's take a look inside.
