If there was a common theme during Austin Inno's Beers with the Beat happy hour last week, it was that people are excited to get back together again.
While events big and small have picked up this year, the Sept. 22 get-together marked the first time since the pandemic began that Austin Inno threw a little party.
It was a blast.
Startup founders, tech recruiters and business development specialists traded stories and tips about the local ecosystem while sipping beers and exploring the modern furniture at Poppin's showroom on East Sixth Street. Check out a few photos from the event below.
Beers with the Beat
Among the folks that the Inno and Austin Business Journal team caught up with were Richard Bagdonas, a serial entrepreneur who recently authored a book called "Fit for Any Battle"; multi-time founder Albert Swantner, who recently co-founded Betterleave Bereavement; and Benito Fernandez, co-founder of local privacy startup The Whisper Company. Teams from Poppin and Xebec also joined in on the networking.
Poppin also raffled off four of its office chairs, which attendees happily wheeled away, headed home or off to a little after party at nearby Shangri-La.
Austin Inno's Beers with the Beat happy hours started several years ago. They're designed to be casual networking events where we catch up with local founders, VCs and others from the startup community while enjoying a few drinks.
Inno plans to announce its next Beers with the Beat event, slated for October, in the coming days. So stay tuned ...
