AlertMedia moves into HQ with airy design, skyline views

AlertMedia just opened its new headquarters in the RiverSouth building, aptly named for being roughly a block south of Lady Bird Lake on South 1st Street.

The locally based threat intelligence and communications company' occupies 68,000 square feet in the top two floors of the 15-story office building. It has expansive views of the downtown skyline, Auditorium Shores and The Long Center for the Performing Arts.

The new space is roughly double the size of its prior offices at Barton Oaks Plaza 1, just south of Lady Bird Lake and east of MoPac Expressway.

It has use for the extra room, despite having a hybrid workforce.

The company, founded in 2013, has hired more than 200 employees in 2022 and, in March, secured a major investment from Austin-based Vista Equity Partners. That deal reportedly totaled $400 million and represented a controlling stake in the business, although AlertMedia has not discussed the financial details.

AlertMedia's HQ opening comes about a year after the company initially announced plans to move. The company said it has space for existing employees and room for planned growth.

The office includes a kitchen, coffee bar and fitness studio. It also has a cocktail and coffee bar and plenty of outdoor space, including a private rooftop area. Click through the slideshow at the top of this story for images of the space, which hopefully provides some ideas for other office managers and business owners wondering how to configure their space while workforce demands are in flux.

"When we began developing our new headquarters, we wanted to create a space that supports different work styles, enables easy collaboration, and serves as a destination for both our local and remote teams to come together," CEO Christopher Kenessey stated. "After multiple years of isolation and fully remote work, we are grateful to have the opportunity to set an example for what the modern, hybrid workplace can look like."

The building was developed by Stream Realty Partners and designed and built by The Beck Group. IA Interior Architects and Harvey Cleary Builders helped AlertMedia finish out its space.

"Our firm was inspired by the company’s principles in creating a safe infrastructure that is simple and clear paired with a focus on being socially and environmentally conscious," stated Kendi Sparks, principal and project director with IA Interior Architects.
