Austin-based automation services and solutions company BP3 Global Inc. said Nov. 30 it raised $33 million in a new funding round led by London-based private equity firm Horizon Capital. The funding will fuel growth and acquisitions, according to an announcement.

BP3, led by CEO Scott Francis, provides intelligent document processing and robotic process automation, in addition to other services.

As part of the deal, Simon Hitchcock, managing partner at Horizon, and Thomas Maizels, director at Horizon, are joining BP3's board. The company, founded in 2007, was bootstrapped in its early days before it landed a $10 million investment led by Nashville-based Petra Capital Partners LLC in 2016.

NuBrakes Mobile Brake Repair Service, an Austin startup created by the University of Texas founders who launched NuWash in 2016, has landed a $9 million series A funding round. The investment was led by San Francisco Bay Area firm Canvas Ventures. Others in on the round included Contrary Capital, Bling Capital and Automotive Ventures. That brings its total funding to $12 million since its founding in 2019 by CEO Walker Drewett and technical co-founder Collin Caram. As part of the deal Canvas General Partner Mike Ghaffary and Bling Capital General Partner Ben Ling are joining NuBrakes' board.

As its name implies, NuBrakes provides on-site auto maintenance services. It operates across Texas, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee. With the new investment, the company plans to make new hires, add to its list of service offerings and expand to new markets.
